Soul Migration is a set of self-portraits aimed at explaining my relationship with events and times (past, present, future). The work will be divided into several categories. The first part is a set of paintings that are my self-portraits. As with most of my earlier works the medium of this cycle is not as relevant as the process of story-telling.
The first part of the work explains the use of face as the visual and physical power of the role of the story-teller. In this case I am using asymmetric forms, elements of vegetation, visual personification with geometric symbolism. Influenced by the culture of death masks of Mexico, Belize and Honduras, a need arose for me to examine the significance and power of the visual identity of a portrait.
